Japanese: IS 〈インフィニット ストラトス〉 アンコール『恋に焦がれる六重奏』
MAL Score: 6.88
On a hot day of summer vacation, Charlotte’s plan to spend time alone with Ichika at his house is somewhat ruined when Cecilia gets the same idea, later followed by Houki, Lingyin and Laura. The next day, Houki helps out at a summer festival being held at her family’s shrine and is surprised when Ichika shows up.
The story takes place after the events of the original series. It’s pretty much a slice of life, romance, episode, completely separate from the Academy. Ichika is home alone and his lady friends decide to take this chance to stop by at his house. Just when you think it’s over when you hear Super Stream begin to play in the back ground, it picks right back up for a few minutes of Ichika and Houki spending time together at a festival. It wraps up very nicely and the part I hated most was when I realized that I had finished the whole damn thing already.
Art – 8
I’ve said many times before, the art in IS is above average. If there’s anything important about a harem anime it’s the art, and making sure you are visually attracted by a character before you’re even further ensnared by their stereotypical but irresistibly moe qualities. They have done this outstandingly well, which other cheap animes fail to do, besmirching the reputation of good Harem animes everywhere. Everything was up to shape, nothing to complain and plenty to nod in approval at.
The female characters, their clothing, movement, bodies, absolutely delicious to say the least.
Sound – 8
The fact that I have something to say automatically calls for a high rating. I finally got to hear Kana (voice for Char) do that shy, nervous, moe voice I always wanted.
That in itself was a treat. Voice acting was faultless.
Character – 8
Awesome. A harem done right. I’ve seen it before, but that only makes it better by the fact that I’ve seen it fail countless times before. I just want Ichika to decide on someone already.
Enjoyment – 9
The highlight was towards the second part of the OVA when Houki takes a bath and you get to ignore the subs and stare at her nipple for a few heavenly seconds. GODDAMN THAT WAS AWESOME.
Overall – 9
Obviously I’m someone who knows how to enjoy a well done Harem anime without letting the unoriginality get to me.
If you loved or liked the anime, you’ll sure as well like or love this OVA.
Characters: Good 7.
Well, most of the characters from the previous anime were still there, even though that this OVA is more on Ichika and Houki they still deserve such rating. By the way about Ichka’s eldest sister Chifuyu, I kinda wonder if she also has some brother complex with Ichka or is she lesbian, eh, who cares?
Enjoyment and Overall : Good 7.
All, I can say is that this 1 off OVA is “ALL GOOD,” whether there will be a season 2 or not, it is nice that Houki was able to have Ichika in the end, by the way I no longer bother to go through the manga, co’z for me I’m only interested to see the 2 together even if Ichka is a moron about Houki’s feelings for him and that’s the reason for my rating.
Please enjoy the review.
————–Down To the point————–
Story – 7
The story takes place after the events of the original series. It’s pretty much a chill slice of life episode taking place just outside the perimeter of the school.Nothing too terrific happens in it tho. Ichika is at home by himself when one by one each of the girls arrive at his place hooping to get a chance to talk to him all alone. He is given a hance to develop his relationship with Houki. My main criticism for the episode is that it feels as if it ends too quickly.
Art – 8
As for the art in IS is it is definitely above average. The art is exactly the same as from the previous IS.It is crisp and clean which in turn leads to visually attractive characters. Their is nothing to really complain about everything is done very well. Specifically movement, dubbing of words, and backrounds ( Trees, mountains, and water) Just to name a few.
Sound – 7
The music was good but not outstanding. We were finally able to hear Kana sing which was a treat. Her voice is different than the previous artist that did the op and end of IS.The voice acting was top notch which is to be expected from a fairly high budget anime. But it was still a treat to hear.
Character – 7
Most of the characters don’t change much with the exception of Houki. She finally was able to overcome her fears of telling Ichika her feelings. Which was definitely a plus. But again the characters did not develop much which is to be expected from a single episode OVA.
Enjoyment – 8
The enjoyment was definetly their. You are presented a slice of life style episode were the characters lay back and enjoy life. The cooking scenes added burts of excitment into the episde. It was enjoyable to see everyone just living, the girls doing what girls do and Ichika being his usual lively self.
Overall – 7
All in all I consider this to be a well done harem anime although their are some unoriginal ideas the series took those ideas and refreshed them and made them better. The best part of this series would have to be the art and story. Which are shown here in the OVA. Lastly it was nice and refreshing to see Ichika and the girls chasing him and having a good time competing for Ichika’s attention.

If you enjoyed the first IS or you are a fan of Houki be sure to toon in to the OVA IS: Infinite Stratos Encore: Koi ni Kogareru Sextet. You can watch here http://www.animeshippuuden.com/infinite-stratos-ova-1/
5: IS: Infinite Stratos 2 – Hitonatsu no Omoide
Japanese: IS 〈インフィニット ストラトス〉2 ロングバケーション 一夏（ひとなつ）の想いで
MAL Score: 6.89
An extended version of the second season’s first episode, which is under the same title.
4: IS: Infinite Stratos 2 – World Purge-hen
Japanese: IS〈インフィニット ストラトス〉2 ワールド パージ編
MAL Score: 6.90
A program called “World Purge” sends illusions to all the girls about their ideal fantasies.
This OVA is at least 50mins long and it is about 1.87 GB to download to watch with HD quality.
First of all, you should realize OVAs can do anything ‘crazy’ off topic from the original Infinite Stratos story. ( Crazy I mean well, obviously ecchi stuff and unbelievable things.) To me, IS: Purge hen is more for enternainment AND no connection whatsoever with IS since the second season of IS.
Story: 5 – I give it a five because there’s no focus in the story, keeps changing stories due to the number of heroines in the IS.
Art: 10 – If this OVA deserves an outstanding ten, that means it had the same art as the last IS series. No problems at all! Enjoyable and no need to squint your eyes because such as “man this scene’s art is done poorly” situation won’t ever show up!
Sound: 9 – Yeah, it’s similar to the last series of the IS. Nothing was bothersome.
Character: 8 – Some characters were well made and some characters weren’t so good.
Enjoyment: 7 – I know that this is a ‘Harem and ecchi’ genre anime, but as an entertainment, it reveals too much ecchi and unnecessary scenes. Unnecessary scenes such as showing underwears of a girl casually like it’s so natural. For some people, they enjoy those pantyshots and fan service scenes.
Overall: 8 – OVERALL, this OVA still deserves an 8 for being made just for an entertainment purpose of others. If it’s an OVA, making people who watch feels comfortable comes in first. This review is my opinion of the OVA, no need to say “No, you are wrong or right”. Take your time watching the OVA.
Thanks for reading.
IS series comeback with the new OVA World Purge-hen which caught my eyes and try to enjoy the show.
IS series never failed to deliver the harem theme with bit of action here and there.
Story Score: 4
The story is predictably enough. A hero comes to save the princess in danger and then finish all the enemies. There is significant root of the story but very unclear unless you watch it for the 2nd time. Some part of the story was not evenly distributed and a bit rush. IS Purge Hen revealed what was all the heroins true desire and their dreams( all about the main protagonist, Ichika). Well I’m fine with that but houki scene was too short and not fair. I’m not a fan of any female character of IS series but but im looking forward for Tatenashi words in the end of the show. There is none off screen plot so far, but the ecchi theme seems on and off. Some part of the fanservice does censor and some are not (you can clearly see it). Few unecessary scene such as the interval between Ichika going to rescue all the girls. The fan service and this scene was absolutely uncessary.
In addition, few new things you will gain from watching this one, the story will open new plot and build my curiosity (maybe) of Orimura Chifuyu and Laura Bodewig. Well at least there is something to look forward.
Characters Score: 6
Most of the characters is the same except Chronicle Chloe, which the only recognizable enemy in this show. For an OVA, its too much uncessary scene and consider to reveal who is the enemy is at least a little. There is few characters development but very little such as Tatenashi, Laura and Orimura Chifuyu.
Art Score: 7
The artworks of IS Purge Hen is almost similar to previous TV series. I have no problem with that.
Enjoyment Score: 6
Enjoyment of watching IS Purge Hen is just moderate. Most of the fun coming from the Orimuras battle and Ichika’s battle with the villians was very funny. Not to mention, the mediocre fanservice, ecchi is the best selling point of the series and the enjoyment sources.
Overall Score : 5
As an OVA, I will give 5 . Im sure you will enjoy the ecchi theme and fanservice but not much on the story I guess.
What I really got from this is that it just felt like a need to really show off how sexy the girls in Ichika’s harem can be and how it does that is by literally going into their minds.
When a program called World Purge affects the academy the girls have to go into a machine to shut it down however this requires the girls to conquer their ultimate desire.
For something that was only 44 minutes I thought it provided some entertainment even though it’s mainly fanservice entertainment it was fine nonetheless.
I thought it was fun seeing how the girls imagined Ichika in their own way and I thought it was funny how Ichika spoke in the native language of each of the girls like with Laura he was German or with Cecillia he was British.
Despite the fanservice parts there was another battle going on outside and even though we don’t get to see the reason behind the attack on the Academy we do get to see pretty good action.
The ending too gave me chills too since it was setting up for a season 3 that may never happen, but if it does it’ll definitely be interesting.
There isn’t really any character development between the character’s other than what their ultimate desires are, however I have to give Josh Grelle credit for trying to make the girls version’s of Ichika sound like he’s from their country, we also get to see Chifuyu kick some ass for once which just increased her badass level for me althought other than that there really wasn’t much difference with the characters overall.
When it comes to the artstyle I did like Chifuyu’s suit even though it wasn’t an IS unit it was still pretty badass and the settings where the girls illusions were despite looking like sexy encounter places they looked pretty detailed.
The fanservice was off the scale this time and is pretty much the reason why this exists, but I didn’t hate it in fact it was pretty good it definitely made some of the girls more sexy or cute like Laura in nothing but an apron or Cecillia getting washed in a bath, it was certainly a good site to see.
Overall this was alright for an OVA, the only thing that really peeked for me was the ending that may have shown a possibility of a season 3 which I hope will happen cause considering what happened at the end it’s got me pretty interested for the next chapter in this story.

On the final day of summer vacation, Kokona Aoba is ready to spend some long-awaited time with her mother, but these plans are unfortunately canceled due to work. Opting to go outside instead, she takes a stroll down a familiar path—one where fond memories appear at every corner.
Later, in the middle of autumn, Hinata Kuraue and Aoi Yukimura are looking through a scrapbook of their childhood. Snooping around in Aoi’s room, Hinata finds that she has kept a strange acorn as a keepsake, but doesn’t remember the reason why. As its discovery dwells on her, a wave of old memories comes forth, causing her to reminisce about a forgotten event from her childhood.
From time spent with loved ones to promises from the past, Yama no Susume: Omoide Present follows the three girls as they cherish old memories while crafting entirely new ones to remember.
It’s sentimental and beautiful. And you couldn’t ask for anything more from an OVA setting us up for the third season. Thematically, it’s perfect for this purpose.

the second episode was the first one to air, and then a pause that spanned almost 4 months was issued until the second episode finally aired. That’s when I was able to move along with my life, and start anticipating the wrap up of a sadly, average screening.
Taking away everything that made the parent series so popular and lovable, the massive world-building, the built-up confrontation and the breathing surrounding the world, these two episodes enticed their gaze and provided manufactory fan service that fed the ominous thirst some of the characters give off. I’m looking at you, Shuna.¨
Two whole episodes of mindless guilty pleasure, what really sales most of the shows from this genre. I would argue that the second episode was the better one, screening the awaited “beach episode”, while the first one had an erotic display of sumo wrestling, going as far as involving with butt-sumo-wrestling which couldn’t stop me from thinking about Keijo!!!!!!!!. Trash only leads to trash. Either way; you can’t really be harsh on an OVA, it was still fun and enjoyable. A lot of humor and “cultured” sightings. There is a huge audience for that.
Albeit it has taken a pretty long time to get all these OVA’s it is a great marketing tactic before the next season to keep the show fresh in mind.
The 5 OVA’s are all very enjoyable and meet the expectations as you want without interfering directly with the main story so that season 2 can start where it wants to start. In theory season 2 could time skip and it would still work.
The art is a great level that is wonderful on the eyes to see. Although edges of faces and such can be a bit crude at times it is generally visually spectacular. Especially the user of magic which looks great on screen.
The sound continues on with the spectacular SFX used. ‘Dragon Buster’ by Milim for me as part of the series as a whole remains an example of the effort put into the show. Generally, other sounds have improved slightly too.
The characters all continue development as expected from before. It is nice to see more of the ways of the world and progresses that can be made whilst seeing some joyful and hilarious moments from the cast. Milim remains my favourite character for her over the top attitude although most others contribute too.
As it is what it is I would recommend watching this if you wanted to see the second season and if you are new watch it after season 1 but all before season 2.
This anime really represents all I wanted for in an anime,a perfect (for me) combination of Isekai and SoL (maybe for the 1st season) where you can enjoy every seconds watching it, a story where you unites different kind of creatures spesifically monsters (of course I wanted them to be goodlooking:). I really like the anime’s concept (game system + isekai), there’s so many skill and there isn’t any level for the skill’s power, which I find simple and enjoyable. Also, I think the rich in diversity of the creatures is the main reason I liked this anime. I liked how they work together to create a world where different kinds of creature can live happily together. And for this OVA, I think it doesn’t move the story so far, it just tell Rimuru’s daily life which they skipped it at the 1st season.
After all, it’s just my personal opinion, thank you for reading:)
