Fox CG with minimal pivot grabbing

From 0-28%, Uptilting fox until 29% will result to tech chase only if fox knows how to sdi the uptilt at like 26-28%. 19% (or 17%? Idk tbh) is when pivot grabbing is required for neutral/slight DI shine. To mitigate the problem if Fox knows how to shine ASAP, you can actually pivot grab the shine itself to make it more lenient. It loses to jump or not shining at all (though if they mash shine and not get the shine out, they will miss the tech resulting to an easy f-smash or jab reset). Easily the hardest part of CG’ing, but after 28% it gets substantially easier…

Tested with p1 as marth (meaning -1 frame leniency). The SDIs are also just one input, so two inputs might change things.

29% – Away DI, uptilt guaranteed follow-up.

Neutral DI, turnaround uptilt guaranteed follow-up.

Behind DI, fox can escape with SDI down and in. Must regrab

Fox can beat turnaround uptilt with weird slight di away or in for sourspot uptilt or sdi the uptilt away**

30-31% – Away DI, guaranteed uptilt.

Neutral DI, guaranteed turnaround uptilt.

Behind DI, fox can escape with sdi towards marth. Must regrab

Fox can beat turnaround uptilt with weird slight di away or in for sourspot uptilt or sdi the uptilt away**

32-34% – Away DI, guaranteed uptilt.

Neutral DI, guaranteed turnaround uptilt.

Behind DI, fox can sdi towards marth for turnaround up-tilt to make turnaround grab a small window. Ftilt is also a true combo for easier damage but no more followups. Can also just regrab instead.

Fox can beat turnaround uptilt with weird slight di away or in for sourspot uptilt or sdi the uptilt away.**

35-36% – same as above, but at turnaround uptilt if fox sdi towards marth, DA is true combo to whatever.

37% – Away DI, uptilt no longer connects. Must regrab or walk uptilt works (even despite sdi).

Neutral DI guaranteed turnaround uptilt to grab or another uptilt.

Behind DI guaranteed turnaround uptilt to grab.

Fox can slight di to make turnaround uptilt tricky.**

38-40% – Away DI, walk uptilt can connect to regrab the most consistently against sdi towards marth. Fsmash can work. Or regrab.

Neutral DI turnaround uptilt to another uptilt or grab or DA.

Behind DI guaranteed turnaround uptilt to another uptilt or grab

Fox can slight di to make turnaround uptilt tricky.**

(At this point I’d start pummeling if the opponent is mashing)

41-47% – Away DI, walk uptilt can connect to regrab the most consistently against sdi towards marth. DA can work as a juicy followup. Or simply regrab if you don’t like walk up-tilt.

Neutral DI, turnaround uptilt to da or regrab can work.

Behind DI, turnaround uptilt to tipper fsmash, rising tipper fair, or regrab can work.

Fox can slight di to make turnaround uptilt tricky.**

48% – same as above, but for di behind turnaround uptilt only combos into rising fair or upair. Also might miss sometime haphazardly despite being the same setup, dunno why. In that case, regrab or slight walk back tipper fsmash

49% – Away DI, rising upair works best at that point to a grab. Rising fair or tipper fsmash is also viable.

Neutral DI, rising upair to regrab is solid.

Slight DI in, trickiest part to followup imo. Pivot grab seems to be the most consistent, as turnaround upair is hard. Weak upair to uptilt seems to work.

Behind DI, turnaround uptilt or regrab or slight walk tipper fsmash

50% – Same as above, but

Slight DI in, turnaround upair works but still hard. Easier the higher the percent

Behind DI, turnaround uptilt no longer works, but running upair or regrab works

The rest, di away upair should work, neutral di upair, slight di in turnaround upair, di in running upair, with whatever mixups you want to incorporate. Generally at this point, Fox tends to DI towards center stage so CG’ing and following up away from stage (like fair) is generally better to set up edgeguards/kill confirms.

**For problematic slight DI stuff mentioned multiple times in this list, it’s probably possible to react the slight DI to simply regrab in place or turnaround grab. If the DI is too ambiguous (aka looks like neutral DI), turnaround up-tilt should beat it without the need for the heavy execution test for pivot grabbing and hope not to get shined.

Oh, and hope you play on ucf as well lmao
