Love Nikki Association Co-op Contest:
A Comprehensive Guide
Hi everyone! I want to start out by thanking Reddit users u/iri_meer and u/CandyFirefly for posting their own guides and information about the co-op contest; I’ve incorporated a lot of that information here. You can find iri_meer’s original post here and CandyFirefly’s original post here. Please let me know if there is any inaccurate, unclear, or missing information here and I’ll update the guide ASAP! Thank you!
The Association Co-op Style Contest: What Is It?
The Association Co-op Contest is a new game function that was added to Love Nikki as part of the update on July 4, 2018. It is a new form of style contest where you work together with other members of your association to craft suits exclusive to the co-op contest! The co-op contest is available to all associations at Level 4 or above. You can access the co-op contest by tapping the Style Contest button on your association page. The rest of this guide aims to detail the different aspects of the co-op contest and explain how to make the most of this new function so you can contribute to your association and obtain new clothes!
Part One: The Style Contest
The co-op contest allows you to put together your outfit for the weekly theme in advance of the contest itself. The co-op contest page will display a Weekly Stylist and a Weekly Style at the top of the page. You can use this information to find the corresponding stage over at Nikki’s Info.
Once you have this information, you can put together your outfit by tapping on Default Design at the bottom of the page, to the left of the Team Challenge button. Tap Get Dressed once you’re done and you’ll be all set for when the contest time rolls around.
Setting a Time
The days and time at which the co-op contest takes place for your association are displayed at the top of the co-op contest page, beneath Weekly Stylist and Weekly Theme. The president and vice president of the association can choose the days and times at which the co-op contest takes place by tapping the Adjust button to the right of the displayed time. The co-op contest can take place on any two days of the week, from either 7:30-8:30 server time or 12:30-13:30 server time (click on the links and add your time zone to find out what time the event starts for you). Once an instance of the co-op contest has occurred for the week, the time cannot be changed again until the week resets on Monday.
Participating in the Contest
Once the contest starts, there are 3 ways to participate: Team Challenge, Solo Challenge, and joining another member through the Bulletin function. By joining through the Bulletin, you are joining another association member’s Team Challenge; Team Challenges grant a 20% boost to rewards gained, so you should only do a Solo Challenge if it’s your only option. You can participate 2 times per day for a total of 4 times per week.
If you go to the co-op contest page and tap Team Challenge, it will send an invitation to the Bulletin message board for another association member to join you. Wait to see if someone joins you; if they do, their avatar will appear on the right side of the screen (opposite yours) and you will automatically be taken to the battle screen. If you want to join one of your association members, check the Bulletin; any open Team Challenge invitations will have a Join button to the right of them. (I would advise checking the Bulletin first before initiating your own Team Challenge.) Tap on the Join button to be taken to the battle screen. Please note that you can join other association members in Team Challenges even if you have already used your 2 chances for the day—you won’t get any materials from participating, but your partner will receive the 20% boost to their rewards!
If no other association members are available at the time that you are, you can tap on Solo Challenge on the co-op contest page (remember that you won’t gain the 20% reward boost you would get from a Team Challenge).
Once the challenge starts, it is a typical style contest like the ones in story stages or commission requests, although you are only allowed to use Smile and Charming in Team Challenges (so as not to hurt your association members!). After the battle is over, you will receive Karma Sand and Memory Crystals that you can contribute to your association’s workshop (see Part Two below). The higher the level of your association, the higher the number of materials you get from participating in battles.
Part Two: The Shadow Workshop
To view the suit that your association is working on crafting, tap the Shadow Workshop button on the right side of the co-op contest page. This will display an image of the suit and a list of the items that make up the suit. Currently the only suit available in the Shadow Workshop is the Apple suit Attached Feather, which requires a total of 300 association activity to claim.
The item that your association is currently working on crafting will have a percentage over it. Tap on that item to see the progress that the association has made. Once you’re on this screen, you can see how many materials you have at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. Tap Donate Material to donate the Karma Sand and Memory Crystals you have gained to the workshop.
Once you have enough materials to craft the item, it must be co-op crafted. In order to craft an item, 12 members must tap on the Co-op Craft button in the bottom right corner of the screen. Once 12 members have contributed to the co-opt crafting, all members of the association can Claim the item and move on to crafting the next one.
If your association does not have 12 active members, don’t worry, you can still get the co-op contest suits! Each member has 1 chance per day to contribute to co-op crafting. If your association does not complete co-op crafting in one day, the same member(s) can tap Co-op Craft again the next day, and so on until the co-op crafting is completed. Of course, this means it will take much longer to obtain the suit, but obtaining it is still possible.
In the Memory Workshop, you can exchange diamonds for materials at any time, up to 4 times per week. The screen will show you how many materials you will gain by spending 50 diamonds and they will be added to your total material count if you choose to purchase them.
Tracking Member Participation
If association officers are interested in keeping track of member participation in the co-op contest, you can see individual members’ activity by tapping on Shadow Workshop and then Battle Rankings in the upper left-hand corner. You can also see individual members’ contributions to crafting by tapping Sand in the upper right-hand corner.
