Oozemorph

So, you know oozes right? Those little jelly dudes what show up when you dump potions in the sewer.  Sometimes all that goo doesn’t just flush away, sometimes it stays.  And sometimes it becomes sentient and decides it wants to go on adventures and shit.  I don’t really understand it myself, then again I’m a terrible writer.  Just be kind and be responsible while playing flubber.  

Appearance: An Oozemorph’s base form is an amorphous blob the size of their original form(default medium)  Colors range in hue and their gel-like flesh is usually transparent.  

Role: Oozemorphs are as flexible as their name implies.  An ooze may fight on the front line using their pliable form to absorb attacks or they may creep along the edge of the fight, waiting to get the literal drop on their enemy.  In their shaped form they are able to move about as their original race or a number of other creatures.  High level oozes are able to blend both forms, shifting into whatever the situation desires.

Starting wealth: 0d100 (In addition, each character begins play with an outfit worth 10 gp or less, but you don’t wear clothes)

Ultimate Life Form

Class features

Ooze form At level one the Oozemorph is permanently changed to the ooze creature type. This is now the default form for the character, if they fall unconscious or they are otherwise unable to maintain another form, they revert back to ooze form.  As an ooze you gain the following racial traits, which override any conflicting  traits while in ooze form:

Base speed, 10 ft

Climb, 10 ft

Blindsight 60 ft

No need for sleep, as well as immunity to poison, sleep, and paralysis effects

One primary natural attack that deals 1d6 of either B/P/S damage, changeable at will

Unable to equip weapons and armor

Unable hold or activate items.  

Character loses it’s normal sight, ability to speak, and it’s body shape while in ooze form

Ooze EvolutionAt level one and each odd level, select a trait from Ooze evolution you meet the prerequisites for.  At level 5 and every 3 levels after, select one known Ooze evolution, you may now use this in any form, including those from other classes or racial abilities.    

Take Shape – At level Two an oozemorph is able to solidify their body into their original race. The ooze matches their old form well enough to gain a +10 on disguise checks for convincing others they are not an ooze.  Additionally the ooze can shape themselves into a small or medium humanoid they have met in the past 24 hours as per alter self. When shaping this way they do not gain the disguise bonus. 

The oozemorph can maintain a changed form for a number of hours equal to their Oozemorph level.  This time is active for all forms except for the base form. Maintaining a form past this point requires a Fort save each hour and when you take damage(DC10+hours over your limit).  Failing this save causes you to return to ooze form.  If you have exceeded your limit you cannot use take shape until you have taken a short(4 hour) rest.  A short rest resets your take shape timer.  

At every even level gain a trait from the table Shape Traits, you must meet the prerequisites for that trait.  

Ultimate Life Form  – At level 20 the oozemorph has complete control over it’s form.  It may switch between any creature it has seen as a free action.  Additionally any Ooze evolutions or Shape traits can be used at any time in any form.  

Shape Traits

Quickly Dressed – Requirements, Level 2

  • When transforming, any nearby unattended weapons or armor can be equipped to you provided you are proficient with the item and have a slot available for the item. 

Beast Shape I – Requirements, Level 6

  • Select one creature available through beast shape I, you may now use take shape into this form

Mirror Mirror – Requirements, Level 4

  • After studying a humanoid creature for one hour, an oozemorph is able to transform into that creature as per take shape with a +10 disguide bonus.  Only one creature can be studied in this way at a time and the previous creature is forgotten if another is studied.  

Beast shape II – Requirements, Level 10

  • Select one creature available through beast shape II, you may now use take shape into this form

Ooze Evolutions

Compression – Requirements, Level 1

  • The ooze can fit through nearly any opening.  As a move action the ooze can move through a space as small as 1’x1’ without penalty. If the space is smaller the ooze must take multiple move actions to squeeze through, determined by the size of the space.  During that time the ooze is considered flat footed 

SPLAT! -Requirements, Level 1

  • When taking damage from a non-magical blunt, piercing, or slashing weapon, reduce the damage taken to a maximum equal to the twice Oozemorphs number of Hit Dice.  This damage reduction is applied after all other damage reduction.  

Acidic ooze – Requirements, Level 3

  • Natural attack deal an additional 1d4 acid damage

Pond Scum – Requirements, Level 5

  • Able to move across water at will as per water walk

Acid tongue – Requirements, Level 5, Acidic Ooze

  • Natural attacks made against you deal 1d4 acid damage to the attacker.  If attacked by a metal weapon reduce that weapons hardness by 1d4. 

Absorption – Requirement, Level 13

  • Twice per day, while on or in clean water, the oozemorph can absorb water into or expell water from its body to change by one size category:  Either from a small creature to a medium creature(15 gallons) or from a medium creature to a large creature (50 gallons).  

Slimy Surprise – Requirement, Level 3

  • The oozemorph can drop from a position above their target and automatically succeed a grapple check.  When a grapple is succeeded this way the target is unable to speak or use verbal spell components the following round

Freeze – Requirement, Level 5

  • The oozemorph can disguise itself as a puddle or patch of slime on the wall as per the Freeze monster trait.  The ooze gains a +20 bonus to disguise checks.  

Swallow whole – Requirements, Level 9

  • Creatures grappled by the ooze of its size or smaller can be absorbed into its body, dealing 3d6 acid damage. While using Swallow Whole the ooze cannot take any move action other than a five foot step.  

Toxic personality – Requirements, Level 15

  • The oozemorph can absorb one dose of poison and store it in its body.  The oozemorph can then apply that poison to a single natural attack or grapple.
