Video explaining each point further:

Coming soon(ish)

  1. Stage select (with pokemon stadium)
  2. Spectator client
  3. Ranked

  • Paid Tags ~$10?
  • Chat commands/chatwheel planned
  • Mac/Linux version this week most likely

Not coming soon:
Doubles planned but unsure when if and if possible.
Due to issues with how the rollback logic is written.
Skins not planned, no visual changes. You can get this from a third party (see below)
Might try to implement pro controller support eventually

How to get replays:
How to setup Slippi?
Is Slippi legal?
Bit of a grey zone, but as far as I can tell yes.
Video on the subject:
Do I need a good computer to run Melee?
No, it will run on most laptops too, the only thing really needed is a decent processor.
Make sure you run your computer in high performance mode etc, and that run the emulator in Fullscreen (Press Alt+Enter)
If its stuttering, try different backends (graphics options). Some people have more success with OpenGL, some don’t.
For Ryzen cpus, some people are experiencing issues, see thread:
Low performance guide:

Fullscreen or windowed?
How to get Widescreen:
Use the gecko code – right click Melee 1.02 in Dolphin, click  “properties”, then under the tab “Gecko Codes” enable “Widescreen 16:9. It does not desync even if only one person has it enabled, the “notes” is outdated. Do however set Aspect Ratio to “Force 16:9” in Graphics for 16:9 monitors.
What controllers are supported?
For now, I would only recommend using official gamecube controllers (no third party shit! I promise you its not worth the lower price tag) and Smashboxes/the B0XX type controllers.
More controller support in the future is planned but not guaranteed, and for now they would not be legal if you were to attend a tournament.

Do I need a gamecube adapter?
If you want to use a gamecube controller, which has the least amount of input lag, you want a gamecube adapter with native support. The official ones that people use for switches/wii U’s work, here’s links to both an official one and a good cheaper option with equally good performance (affiliate link)

Here’s a guide on how to setup your gamecube controller adapter to work once you have it:
Wifi, Internet Speed, does it matter?
Wifi sucks, but can work a little better with rollback. Internet bandwidth doesn’t really matter (5MB up vs 500 up), stability and low ping is much more important.
Do I need a good monitor?
Monitors can make a difference at higher levels but are not needed to start out, and yes, 60hz vs 120/144hz does make a difference even if the game is only running in 60fps.
Try running it in 120Hz for optimal performance, its slightly better than 144hz. Gsync/Freesync does work, and in my experience provides significantly more smooth of an image and more stable performance.

Here’s links to the monitors that I (Leffen) use and can vouch for (Not sponsored, but amazon affiliate links):

ASUS ROG Swift PG278QR 27” Gaming Monitor 1440p 1ms 165Hz DP HDMI G-SYNC Eye Care
Expensive, but a good option for 1440p IPS low lag gaming.

ASUS VG279Q 27″ Full HD 1080p IPS 144Hz 1ms (MPRT) DP HDMI DVI Eye Care Gaming Monitor with FreeSync/Adaptive Sync (works with GSYNC)
Cheaper, IPS 144hz 27” monitor with Gsync/Freesync support.
BenQ ZOWIE XL2411P 24 Inch 144Hz Gaming Monitor | 1080P 1ms | Black eQualizer & Color Vibrance
Cheapest option I would recommend, 144hz and very low lag, but no Gsync/Freesync or IPS however.

Can I play offline with this emulator?
Yes, follow this clip:
Also press right for each player on D-pad for ucf!

Can I change the delay, should I?
Short answer, yes but dont
Long answer, yes, but its almost never necessary unless playing very high ping matches. Follow this twitch clip for instructions:
What delay for what ping:
Anything below 110 ping, use 2 frame, NEVER 0
110 ping to 150, use 3F
Above 150-175 use 4f
Above 210~ use 5f
And so on
