Definitions and Keywords

Reference for keywords found on cards and other mechanics. Megami specific mechanics are explained in detail on the Megami’s section.

Additional Cards

An area to place cards stated by special set-ups specific to Megami. Cards in this zone are face-up and portrait-oriented. Specials in this area are treated as used. Effects of cards in this area do not resolve.

[After Attack] <effect>

An effect described in the text of the Attack card and is resolved as part of the procedure of using Attack cards.

[Disenchant] <effect>

An effect described in the text of the Enchantment card, and is resolved when the Enchantment card is discarded from play.

[Forced] <effect>

An effect described in the text of a card, which can be referred to in any area as long as the information is disclosed to one or more players (eg. in hand, in play etc.)

Immediate Resurgence

An effect described in the text of a Special card, and is only active when [Used]. At any time, if the conditions are met, make the card unused (Turn it back face down and in portrait-orientation).

[Ongoing]

An effect described in the text of the Enchantment card. The ability resolves while the card is in play and is described more specifically by the card.

Reshuffle

Shuffle together all the cards from your deck, discard and Secret areas. Take note that reshuffling a deck typically results in having to lose 1 Life.

Resurgence

An effect described in the text of a Special card, and is only active when [Used]. During the controller’s End Phase, if the conditions are met, make the card unused (Turn it back face down and in portrait-orientation).

Secret

Refers to a zone (similar to discard/ deck/ additional cards), and also a type of effect. To Secret a card is to place it face down in the Secret area. Information of what is on the printed face is known only to the card’s controller.

Seal

Only cards can be sealed. To Seal a card is to move it under a target area (usually another card).

Terminal

After a player resolves a card with this keyword, that player cannot play cards or take basic actions for the rest of the turn.

Unavoidable

This attack cannot be cancelled (by either a cancel effect or other means such as changing distance)

Unguarded

An effect described in the text of the Enchantment card. The ability is as follows : [Ongoing] When you lose Life from any source other than reshuffling, Secret this card. Move all Sakura that was on this card into Shadow (do not resolve Disenchant)

Uninterruptible (specifics)

This attack cannot be reacted to by the opponent by cards in the (specifics). With no specifics, the attack cannot be reacted to at all.

Used/ [Used] <effect>

When a card is used, it becomes face-up and portrait oriented. A card that has [Used] provides an effect as stated on the card while it is in the used state.

[When Played] <effect>

An effect described in the text of the Enchantment card and is resolved when the Enchantment is initially played.
