The Vylsiar are a type of celestial being nearly wiped out when the mortal world was beginning to form but now inhabit the Astral plane. They are immortal and cannot die from old age, however, this can be changed if their immortality is severed by crossing into the mortal world to serve a larger purpose. This isn't to say they cannot cross the prime material plane without being mortal. Severing their immortality is true ascendance for them, though even afterwards, they live lives even longer than that of the oldest elves. Nothing is truly known about them as not many people have seen a Vylsiar. These astral-born celestial's have masks with magical properties that conceal their true identity though some prefer to use illusionary magic's just by itself even if it becomes more draining overtime. They are truly secretive beings.

Several artistic expressions show them at birth to have a constellation pattern on their skin that is said to depict what future the individual's life holds. This is considered their destiny on the prime material plane or astral plane, and is very much a deciding factor whether one severs their immortality or keeps it. Much can be learned from them if they ever decide to reveal themselves to us.

Something else strange we've never found through any record is them actually being able to speak. One glass painting from an old ruin shows the splitting of another creature's head with the attempt at speech. It is theorized that they aren't able to speak in tongue as just their voice alone can rend a creature's mind to nothing, even to other Vylsiar. Though do seem communicative through writing and perhaps even telepathy as there are vast records of Vylsiar writings.

Vylsiar Features

Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution, Wisdom, and Charisma scores increase by 1.

Age. Vylsiar are immortal and do not age unless they have purpose in the mortal world, otherwise their lifespan is known to be 1,000 years or more.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision. You are blessed with the ability to bring about change, the energy of the Astral plane flowing through you allows you to see the world beyond. You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Astral Protector. Once per long rest as a reaction, you can negate all damage directed towards you or an ally within 5 feet of you.

Rend Mind. Once per long rest as a bonus action you begin to speak, creatures that can hear your voice within 15 feet of you must make a Constitution saving throw or take 1d8 psychic damage and become stunned until the end of their next turn, or not become stunned on a successful save. Deafened creatures are immune to this feature. The DC for this save equals 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus. The damage increases to 2d8 at 7th level.

Languages. You can speak although it's very dangerous. You know Common & Celestial, and your method of communication is through writing and telepathically speaking to a creature that shares languages with you.
