Void Trial Walkthrough – Crossing Void Global Server

Hello, my name is Vanse and I’m a retired Crossing Void player originally from the older SEA version pre-global and the previous guild leader of the Katana guild family. This is my guide on Void Trials and it will cover everything you need to know about them.

Void trials are a series of side stages accessible through selecting ‘Challenges’ from the home screen and going to ‘Void Trials’.  There are 27 Void Trial levels in total, divided into 8 sections. They are initially locked but will be progressively unlocked by clearing story mode chapters, starting from chapter 3. Each section cleared with full stars will reward you with one gacha voucher in addition to varying rewards.

Rewards:

  1. A 2★ material box which contains 5 Bold Determinations

  2. A 3★ material box which contains 10 Bold Determination II and 10 Resolute Will II and a Basic Void License accessory which boosts Physical DEF by 0.62% for all characters

  3. A 3★ material box (same content as before)

  4. A 3★ material box (same content as before) and an Intermediate Void License accessory which boosts Physical DEF by 1.25% for all characters

  5. A fragment box which lets you choose 5 fragments from one these characters: Mikoto, Touma, Rentarou, Qwenthur, Emi, Leafa and Miyuki

  6. A fragment box (same content as before) and an Advanced Void License accessory which boosts Physical DEF by 1.87% for all characters

  7. A fragment box (same content as before)

  8. A fragment box (same content as before) and a Special Void License accessory which boosts Physical DEF by 2.50% for all characters

Most of the earlier void trial stages will be easy and straightforward, while the later ones may be confusing and even frustrating. That being said, this guide will cover all of it and will guarantee you to blast through all the stages with little to no difficulty. Without further ado, let’s jump into it.

(Note: The video guides are slightly choppy because they were recorded in an android emulator which at the time of recording wasn’t super compatible with the game yet)

(Note 2: This guide refers to skill points as SP and climax points as CP. If there are any other unfamiliar terms, check out Akaze’s Beginner Guide for Crossing Void)

Section 1

1-1

All Section 1 stages are easy and straightforward. For turn 1-3 use dispel skills (Miyuki skill 2, Emi skill 2) when they have a buff, but otherwise use 0 SP skills. From turn 4 onwards, keep dispelling but use other damaging skills to kill them off. Use Miyuki’s climax skill followed by Shizuo’s climax skill in round 5.

Video guide: Void Trial 1-1

1-2

For round 1-2 you can spend SP however you want. From round 3 onwards, they will start debuffing. Respond using expel skills (Uiharu’s sub skill, Ryuji’s sub skill) and use Kirino’s climax skill in round 4 and follow up with Kirito’s climax skill. After that, damage them until you defeat them.

Video guide: Void Trial 1-2

1-3

For round 1-2, use Qwenthur’s skill 2 only once and save the rest of your SP to heal (Leafa’s sub skill, Kirino’s skill 2) to respond to enemy bleeds. You can use Qwenthur’s skill 2 again in round 3, but keep healing bleeds. Use Ako’s skill 2 in round 3. Use Kirino’s heal and Qwenthur’s skill 2 in round 4. Use Kirino’s climax skill in round 5 followed up by Qwenthur’s climax skill. After that use Leafa’s heal one more time and Yuuki’s sub skill to finish Shana off.

Video guide: Void Trial 1-3

1-4

In round 1, use 0 SP skills for both Asuna and Kuroyukihime and skill 2 on Kuroko. In round 2, get CP while making sure that you still have enough SP for Kuroko’s skill 2. In round 3, use Kuroko’s climax skill. After that just whittle them down however you want.

Video guide: Void Trial 1-4

Section 2

2-1

Use Touma’s sub skill in round 1. Use Emi’s skill 2 and Mikoto’s cross skill in round 2. In round 3, use Ako’s sub skill and Touma’s sub skill followed by Rentaro’s climax skill. Lastly use Emi’s skill 2 to finish Kuroyukihime off. Once she is defeated, the stage will be won.

Video guide: Void Trial 2-1

2-2

Use Mikoto’s skill 2 in round 1. In round 2, use Uiharu’s sub skill, Kirino’s sub skill and Rentaro’s cross skill. In round 3, use Emi’s climax skill. After that, use AOE skills and Mikoto’s climax skill to whittle them down until they’re defeated.

Video guide: Void Trial 2-2

2-3

Always keep 5 SP ready for Zero’s sub skill to seal Shana when she's about to use climax skill. There is an indicator icon below Shana's health bar which tells you when she's about to use climax skill on her next turn (when it says “Fully Charged!”). Other than that, charge CP and use Kirino’s and Qwenthur’s climax skills in round 4. If enemy Dokuro’s sub skill activates in round 4 (it’s random), simply use Kirino’s cross skill to finish Shana and Kuroko and skip Rentaro’s turn round 5 so you can defeat Kuroyukihime using Rentaro’s climax skill in round 6 (you need to defeat an enemy using climax skill to get the third star).

Video guide: Void Trial 2-3

Section 3

3-1

In round 1-3, use Mikoto’s skill 2 and Tomoka’s skill 2 whenever you have enough SP for them. Don’t use your climax skills yet at this point as the enemy still has defense buffs on them. In round 4, use Hinata’s sub skill. In round 5, use Tomoka’s climax skill and Rusian’s sub skill, then follow it up with Mikoto’s climax skill. Finish them off with Kirino’s climax skill.

Video guide: Void Trial 3-1

3-2

In this stage, the enemy has a deadly combo in round 3 that will defeat your team if not handled properly. Therefore, you need to follow these exact steps to conserve SP for the skills that matter. Round 1 use Kuroyukihime skill 1, Kirino skill 1 and Miyuki sub skill. In round 2, use Kuroyukihime skill 2, Kirino skill 1 and Ako skill2. In round 3, use Kuroyukihime climax skill and Frolaytia sub skill. After that, damage them however you like.

Video guide: Void Trial 3-2

3-3

Throughout round 1-3, spam Miyuki’s cross skill every time it’s up. Use Kirito’s skill 2 in round 2 and Shizuo’s skill 2 in round 3 to wound their healing skills. In round 4, however, use Miyuki’s climax skill and damage them however you like until you defeat them.

Video guide: Void Trial 3-3

3-4

In this stage, the enemy will dispel should you ever use your Ako’s sub skill buff. They will also expel Enju’s sub skill debuff. Just keep spamming Rentaro’s cross skill and Qwenthur’s skill 2 whenever they’re up. Use Qwenthur’s climax skill in round 3, then damage them however you like and use Emi’s climax skill in round 5 to defeat Kuroyukihime.

Video guide: Void Trial 3-4

Section 4

4-1

In round 1, save SP for Ryuji’s sub skill to expel their seal. In round 2, use Shana’s skill 2 and Kirino’s sub skill to get some damage on enemy Rentaro. Also use Ryuji’s sub skill once again to expel their weak debuff. After that, damage them however you like until round 4 while expelling their seal and debuff. In round 4, use Selvaria’s skill 2 to negate most of enemy Rentaro’s climax skill damage. Expel their debuff once more. In round 5, use Shana’s climax skill and damage them however you like until they’re defeated.

Video guide: Void Trial 4-1

4-2

This stage employs a special mechanic in the form of a rotating buff “Arsenal”. It boosts your damage significantly. Only use >0 SP skills on the group that has the golden buff, otherwise spam 0 SP skills for other groups. Only when your SP is about to overflow should you use other skills without the golden buff. To get 3 stars, you have to use at least 2 climax skills. Make sure that at least one of them is cast by a group with the golden buff.

Video guide: Void Trial 4-2 (As this stage contains a random element, do not follow the video step by step. Follow the text guide instead)

4-3

This stage also has a special mechanic in the form of a significant damage boost to enemy Shana during certain rounds. It is by default synced to give her the boost when she’s going to use her climax skill. However, we can de-sync it by dispelling it once. Use Touma’s sub skill to dispel Shana during the first turn, then keep spamming 0 SP skills on both Rentaro and Kuroko while spamming Mikoto/Touma's cross skill. During round 5, use Rentaro's climax skill. Make sure you don’t use Rentaro’s climax early as killing the opponent using a cross skill won’t give you 3 stars clearance.

Video guide: Void Trial 4-3

Section 5

5-1

The only important thing to pay attention to here is to save some SP for Miyuki’s skill 2 in round 1 and 3 to dispel their buffs. Other than that, damage them however you like. Use Kirito’s climax skill in round 3 and Miyuki’s climax skill in round 4 to finish them off.

Video guide: Void Trial 5-1

5-2

There is a special mechanic to this stage in the form of a rotating golden defense debuff on the enemy team named “Fragile”. To clear it, you have to focus on attacking whoever has that golden debuff at the current time. Touma’s sub skill, Havia’s sub skill and Mikoto’s cross skill all target the frontline. Kirino’s sub skill and Miyuki’s cross skill targets the rear line. If the debuff is on the middle enemy, use 0 SP AOE skills to damage them, unless you need to build CP. Keep in mind that you need to use at least 1 sub skill (cross skill doesn’t count) to get 3 stars. Prioritize killing Rentaro as fast as possible when the golden debuff is on him so that he can’t kill your team member. By round 5, there needs to be only 1 enemy group left alive, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to defeat them in time for 3 stars clearance.

Video guide: Void Trial 5-2 (As this stage contains a random element, do not follow the video step by step. Follow the text guide instead)

5-3

This stage has two special mechanics in place. One being a reflect damage buff that refreshes every time you damage the enemy. This causes all damage dealt by the enemy to reflect onto herself. The second being heavy damage reduction to your skills (to single digits). Use Leafa’s sub skill on turn 1. Keep spamming Tomoka skill 1 and other damaging skills from the other groups to collect CP. Mikoto will cast climax skill in round 3 and round 5. Don’t use Tomoka’s skill 2 on these rounds to maximize reflect damage. In round 5, if the enemy’s HP falls to below 26, you can use Emi’s climax skill to finish her. Otherwise, use Shizuo’s climax skill to finish Mikoto off after she's left with 1 HP from reflect damage (you need to finish her with climax skill to get 3 stars clearance).

Video guide: Void Trial 5-3

Section 6

6-1

This one is an easy stage. Similar to stage 3-3, you need to keep a wound on the enemy to reduce their healing. Use both Shizuo’s skill 2 and Kirito’s skill 2 whenever it’s up. In round 3, use Shana’s climax skill and keep wounding them. In round 4, use Enju’s sub skill if you have enough SP to negate some of Emi’s climax skill damage.

Video guide: Void Trial 6-1

6-2

This is one of the most difficult stages. It’s similar to stage 5-2, except that in this stage you want to avoid hitting the one with the golden buff named “Resolve”. The buff reduces their damage taken significantly. Your team also consists of the same characters from 5-2. Use single target sub skills and cross skills to attack those without the buff. If the golden buff appears on the same enemy group twice in a row, use AOE skills as we don’t want to kill a group too early. If Rentaro doesn’t have the buff at turn 2/4, use Havia’s sub skill as Kirino will heal in round 3 and 5.  Ideally, you want to have two half HP enemy groups and one low HP enemy group. Once you get enough CP, combo Miyuki’s and Mikoto’s climax skills when the buff is on the low HP group. Finish them off using Qwenthur’s climax skill. It takes a small amount of luck on the buff rotation to beat this stage, and you may have to try multiple times.

Video guide: Void Trial 6-2 (As this stage contains a random element, do not follow the video step by step. Follow the text guide instead)

Video where I got unlucky and the buff didn’t transfer to the low HP groups: Void Trial 6-2 Fail

6-3

A fairly straightforward but precise stage. During round 1-3, bleed the robots using Shana’s and Mikoto’s skill 2 to collect climax points. Don’t use any climax skills yet at this point as they will negate most of its damage. In round 4, use Ako’s and Hinata’s sub skill. In round 5, use Shana’s climax skill. After that, use Touma’s sub skill (for CP) and finish off using Mikoto’s climax skill.

Video guide: Void Trial 6-3

Section 7

7-1

This is a simple stage. Start with Mikoto’s skill 2 in round 1. Spam Rentaro’s sub skill and Leafa’s sub skill to respond to their bleeds in round 2 and upwards. Cast Shana’s climax skill in round 4 and Mikoto’s climax skill in round 5.

Video guide: Void Trial 7-1

7-2

This is also a  linear stage. Spam Shizuo's skill 1 as he will be targeted often. Bleed them using Shana’s and Mikoto’s skill 2 in round 2. In round 3, use Miyuki’s sub skill and Mikoto’s skill 2. In round 4, use Shana's climax skill and Kuroko’s sub skill . In round 5, use Miyuki’s sub skill once again and  then Shizuo's climax skill to deal the finishing blow (you need to defeat the enemy using a climax skill to get 3 stars clearance).

Video guide: Void Trial 7-2

7-3

Round 1: Mikoto Skill 2, Miyuki Skill 1, Qwenthur Skill 1

Round 2: Mikoto Skill 1, Miyuki Cross, Qwenthur Skill 2

Round 3: Mikoto Skill 2, Miyuki Climax, Qwenthur Skill 2

Round 4: Mikoto Skill 2, Miyuki Skill 1, Qwenthur Skill 2

Round 5: Mikoto Skill 2, Miyuki Skill 2, Qwenthur Climax

(Note: The paragraph below – including the video – is outdated as the developers made some changes to this stage on the official release. Thanks to TigerRyuji for providing the updated guide above.)

During round 1 and 2, hit them using Qwenthur’s cross skill. Don’t use Mikoto’s skill 2 as the enemy will spam heal. Use Mikoto’s climax skill in round 3. Also spam Miyuki’s cross skill from round 3 and onwards. Once shizuo has been defeated (you need to defeat him first to get 3 stars clearance), use Qwenthur’s climax skill to finish the remaining enemy in round 5.

Video guide: Void Trial 7-3

7-4

In this stage, you need to defeat Asuna first as defeating Izaya or Qwenthur first will prompt Asuna to use climax skill. Even then, if you don’t kill her fast enough, your Mikoto might be defeated first. The enemy also uses random moves each run. Fortunately, through trial and error we discovered a moveset that will reliably win this stage.

  • Round 1: Yukina’s sub skill, Touma’s sub skill, Miyuki’s skill 1

  • Round 2: Yukina’s sub skill, Mikoto’s cross skill, Miyuki’s skill 2

  • Round 3: Yukina’s sub skill, Mikoto’s cross skill, Miyuki’s climax skill

  • Round 4: Kuroyukihime’s skill 2, Mikoto’s cross skill, Miyuki’s skill 1

  • Round 5: Kuroyukihime’s climax skill, Mikoto’s cross skill

Video guide: Void Trial 7-4

Section 8

8-1

This stage has a special mechanic. Each of the enemy group carries a buff for their team that will activate in round 5 if they are still standing by that time.

  • Kirino’s buff will heal them

  • Kirito’s buff will give them an attack buff

  • Shizuo’s buff will give them a defense buff

To get 3 stars clearance, you can’t deal the finishing blow to any enemy using a sub skill. To start off, use Havia’s sub skill in round 1. Use Mikoto’s cross skill and Qwenthur’s skill 2 in round 2. In round 3, use Mikoto’s climax skill and Qwenthur’s cross skill to defeat Kirino. In round 4, cast Touma’s sub skill and Miyuki’s cross skill, followed up by Qwenthur’s climax skill. After that, finish off the remaining Shizuo using Mikoto’s cross skill (remember not to use sub skill).

Video guide: Void Trial 8-1

8-2

This stage has a special mechanic in the form of warning icons below the enemy’s health bars that indicates what you should do in order to prevent the enemy from using climax skills. SP gain rate is doubled (2 SP per turn) in this stage. You also only have 30 seconds to act, unlike all the previous 99 seconds per turn. First off, use both Kuroko’s and Zero’s sub skills in round 1. In round 2, use Shana’s skill 2 and Mikoto’s climax skill, then follow up with Zero’s sub skill. In round 3, use Wilhelmina’s sub skill, Mikoto’s cross skill and Miyuki’s climax skill. In round 4, use all of your sub skills. Finally on round 5, use Shana’s climax skill, and finish off using both Mikoto’s and Miyuki’s cross skills (don’t use your skill 2 to defeat them to get 3 stars clearance).

Video guide: Void Trial 8-2

8-3

This is the harder version of stage 7-4. On top of still having random moves, if you defeat Asuna’s group first, the other two will use climax skills. If you defeat either of Izaya or Qwenthur first, Asuna will use climax skill. Therefore, you need to defeat Asuna and Qwenthur at the same turn. During round 1-3, keep spamming sup’s skill on Kuroyukihime’s turn while using Mikoto’s and Miyuki’s cross skills whenever they’re up. Use Mikoto’s skill 2 and Miyuki’s climax skill in round 4. Follow up by using Kuroyukihime’s skill 2 to get UP and cast Mikoto’s climax skill in round 5. Finish off with Miyuki’s cross skill. If you are unlucky and they used Havia’s sub skill twice or more, Mikoto will die before you can defeat the enemy team. When that happens, retry the stage.

Video guide: Void Trial 8-3

And that’s all! Thank you very much to ReliFeZ for providing me the means to playtest some of the stages here, as well as helping me with various other things. Thank you as well to KuroRookievip for providing assistance in the making of this (however small that may be). And lastly, thank you for using this guide!
