The Elder Dragon

Your patron is a mighty, millennia old dragon, brimming with magical power, raw strength, and vast knowledge. Despite their power, dragon patrons rarely have inscrutable motivations, typically striving for personal gain or tangible, altruistic ends. In exchange for power, dragon patrons reward warlocks not only with power, but with riches and information gathered over many centuries.

Dragonmind

You are able to tap into your Draconic patron's vast knowledge and hear the whispers of ancient secrets and lost lore. At 1st level, you gain Proficiency in History, and are able to speak, read, and write Draconic.

Millennia of Knowledge

If you spend at least 1 minute examining an object, you may learn two of the following properties about the object:

  • Approximate gold value

  • Materials and elements the object is constructed of

  • Approximate age

  • Magical Properties

  • Approximate location of origin of construction

  • Primary creator(s) of the object

At higher levels, you may learn additional  properties. At 10th level, you may learn 3 of the listed properties and 4 properties at 14th.

You cannot use this feature more than once on the same object.

You must complete a short or long rest before you may use this feature again.

Wing Sweep

At 6th level, your patron's might protects you from harm. Whenever you take damage, you may use a reaction to summon a spectral pair of dragon wings to sweep enemies away. All creature of your choice within 15 feet take damage equal to half your Warlock level (rounded down). The damage type is the same as one of the types associated with your patron.

Additionally, the selected creatures must succeed on a Dexterity Saving Throw against your Spell Save DC, or be knocked back 15-feet and fall prone.

You must complete a short or long rest before you may use this feature again.

Hoard Chest

At 6th level, you gain the ability to summon a chest from your patron's hoard. As an action, you may summon an empty chest in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of you. The chest can hold up to 12 cubic feet of nonliving material (3x3x2 feet).

When you first summon the chest, it is empty. The chest remains for one hour, or until dismissed. The chest then returns back to the hoard, along with all of its contents.

After summoning the chest, you cannot do so again until after completing a short or long rest.

Note to the DM:

This feature is intended to be used beyond what is written in the rules. The Hoard Chest is a good opportunity to have the Warlock transport requested or required items to their patron, or possibly receive something from the patron by summoning the chest. Do not be afraid to get creative with how the Warlock and patron interact with each other through this feature.

Boon from the Hoard

Your patron has deemed you worthy of being temporarily gifted some of their most valued treasures. At 10th level, as an action you may beseech your patron to magically summon an enormous pile of coins and treasure to a location within 30 feet of you. The treasure pile takes up an area equal to a 30-foot square centered on the point you chose.

The pile counts as difficult terrain. Creatures who are in the area when you summon the treasure pile must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your Warlock spell save DC or fall prone and be restrained until the end of their next turn. The treasure pile remains for 1 minute and then magically disappears back to your patron’s hoard. You must complete a short or long rest before you may use this feature again.

Almighty Magic

Your patron does not suffer lesser expressions of their power. At 14th level, whenever you deal damage with a spell from your Expanded Spells List, you may reroll any number of damage dice a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier, using the new result. You must complete a long rest before you may use this feature again.
